| Welcome to Homefinder Somerset - this is the new way of finding a home to rent within Somerset that lets you select the homes you would like to be considered for. This new system will come into operation in December 2008 and in order to be able to participate you need to register for social housing or for those applicants that are already on existing partner locsl authority housing registers, you will need to re-register your application. |
What is Homefinder Somerset
Homefinder Somerset is a partnership of local authorities and housing associations who are working together to make the process of finding a home simple and transparent for all applicants across Somerset. Anyone looking for social housing anywhere in Somerset now only has to complete one application form and their needs will be assessed against the same clear set of criteria no matter where they live.
What you need to do now
During the next few months we are asking all those people that are on existing local authority Housing Registers to re-register for the HomefinderSomerset scheme. If you are on an existing register or on a partner landlord transfer list you should receive a letter inviting you to re-register using our online application form. This letter will contain your unique login reference, it is important that you use this when registering online in order to retain your original date of application.

Remember that the new Homefinder Somerset scheme will not be in place until December 2008. Until that time social housing will continue to be allocated using current systems and existing applicants will not be disadvantaged in any way.
